About
Born in Surrey in 1962, Lou moved to the Isle of Wight as a teenager and so began her obsession with being by the sea. She studied fashion and textiles in Cambridge before becoming a buyer at Liberty’s of London. This lead onto a successful career as an interior designer, head of her own thriving company which lasted over 35 years with many exciting projects both at home and around the world, visualising and executing amazing interiors for all her clients.
It is only now, when she begins to shift the pace of her life, that she has rediscovered her love of painting from her studio in Penzance, Cornwall. With such a rich history of artists, she has found this corner of the world hugely inspirational.
Throughout Lou’s life, she has been drawn to all things creative, from work where she would be handling and putting together fabrics, wallpapers, woods, marbles to her love of exhibitions, travel and theatre. To her, everything is visual, how colour and patterns interact with each other.
“Painting is my expression of what I see before me, what I’m surrounded by and immersed in, at any given moment captured by time”
